Squashed Again

Check it out – the first of the yellow crookneck bent summer squash has dropped in all its knobbly glory. The plants are huge, but up til now largely fruitless, but suddenly something has clicked, and the plants are covered all over in tiny lemon yellow tubers.

Yellow crookneck (althought not this one!) bent summer squash

We’re actually a bit worried – having gone back over the instructions they state these are similar to, but better than, courgettes. Reason being, they are “better flavoured and more productive.” MORE productive??? We are fast running out of ideas for what to do with the courgettes. If this is the case we are sure to be drowning in squash soon…

More productive?? Should have read the instructions better!!
